We've found people learn best when it's connected to what lights them up.
We support academic progress in English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and the Arts, while helping young people learn how to learn, develop focus, motivation, confidence and purpose.
Drawing on the science of learning, we use different ways of teaching, from auditory and visual learning to embodied, playful and creative approaches, including creative arts, animal-assisted learning and real-life experiences.
We also bring an entrepreneurial mindset into learning, helping young people develop the imagination, initiative, problem-solving and agency to see themselves not simply as consumers of information, but as potential creators and world-builders within it.
Learning doesn’t happen in isolation. We bring students’ everyday lives, families, interests, challenges, siblings and even pets into the learning process, creating a connected system around the young person.

HOW WE TEACH
We teach for all of it: how they perform on the field, how they connect with friends, how they explore the arts, how they find their place in nature — alongside academic subjects.
Alongside where they learn, we build the capacities that carry them further: mindset training, creative thinking, problem-solving, flexibility, adaptability, intrinsic motivation, purpose, confidence and focus.
Beyond the subject
A session doesn't have to start with a subject. It can start with what's actually in front of them — working on mindset before a big game, building confidence ahead of a speech, or finding their footing in the playground. Our sessions can be anchored to what is needed both in the moment and for longer term goals.
Many ways of learning
Auditory, visual, embodied, playful and creative approaches — including creative arts and animal-assisted learning. Research on movement-rich, play-based teaching consistently finds deeper engagement and longer retention than sit-and-listen instruction alone. We build on that, not around it.
An intra/entrepreneurial mindset
We help young people build imagination, initiative, problem-solving and agency — so they see themselves as creators and world-builders, not simply passive consumers of information and the future in front of them.
Learning connected to life
Learning doesn't happen in isolation. We bring students' everyday lives, families, interests, challenges, siblings and even pets into the process — building a connected system around the young person.
Beyond the screen
Our sessions are delivered online, but the screen is only where we start. From there, every program moves outside — into gardens, alongside animals, back in touch with the people around them. The world ahead is moving fast, and the skills it needs come from beyond the screen.

Many children show signs of learning differently long before — or without ever — being formally diagnosed. Alston works whichever is true for your child: no diagnosis required to start, and real depth of experience when one exists.
We see a young person's progress as part of a wider system of love — this is why we include a program for parents too, teaching our methodology so it becomes embedded in your family's everyday rhythm at home.
